Quality Certifications

API Q1 10th Edition – API Q1 is a rigorous quality management system standard developed by the American Petroleum Institute for manufacturers in the oil and gas industry. The 10th Edition emphasizes risk management, operational efficiency, and product reliability to ensure compliance with industry demands. This certification demonstrates a company’s commitment to high-quality production, continuous improvement, and regulatory adherence.

ISO 9001:2015 – ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems, ensuring businesses meet customer and regulatory requirements through consistent processes. It focuses on risk-based thinking, leadership involvement, and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Certification demonstrates a commitment to quality, operational excellence, and a systematic approach to managing business processes.

Design Standards

ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) – ABS is a globally recognized organization dedicated to setting safety and quality standards for the marine and offshore industries. It provides classification, certification, and technical services to ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

ANSI (American National Standards Institute) – An administrative organization that oversees the development of voluntary consensus standards for products, services, processes, systems, and personnel in the United States of America.

API (American Petroleum Institute) – An organization that develops and publishes standards related to the oil and gas industry.

ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) – An international standards organization that develops and publishes codes and standards for building and testing components from a wide variety of industries.

ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) – An international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.

ATEX Approval (European Union and Economic Area) – An approval that ensures equipment will work safely in an explosive environment without causing any accident if used as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.

CSA Group (Canadian Standards Association) – An organization that publishes standards for fuel gas systems and gas appliances but is primarily used for product testing and certification services that permit product distribution in Canada.

DNV – An organization that grants approval of manufacturer compliance with international standards based on specific products and/or services – commonly involving maritime related industries.

FM (Factory Mutual Approvals) – An organization that provides testing and certification services related to equipment designed for property loss prevention.

IP Rating – A rating system developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission who also develop standards and certifications for electrical products. They provide product ratings for many ordinary and hazardous locations.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) – An organization that develops and publishes standards related to a wide variety of things.

MSS (Manufacturers Standardization Society of the Valve and Fittings Industry) – An organization that develops and publishes standard practices for manufacturers and customers involved with valves and fittings.

NACE (formerly National Association of Corrosion Engineers) – An organization that sets standards for corrosion prevention and control.

NAMUR – An organization that sets standards for process control parts in addition to mounting patterns.

NEMA (The National Electrical Manufacturers Association) – An organization that develops standards and certifications for electrical products. They provide product ratings for ordinary and hazardous locations.

NSF International (National Sanitation Foundation) – An organization that develops and publishes standards and certifications involving food, water, and the environment as they pertain to public health.

PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) – A product directive issued by the European Community that sets the standard for the design, fabrication, installation, and use of pressure equipment.

SIL (Safety Integrrity Level) – A range of approvals between SIL1 and SIL4 that denote the level of risk protection and expected life of a product. SIL1 carries the least protection while SIL4 carries the most.

UL (Underwriter’s Laboratories) – An international organization that develops and publishes standards, provides testing, and certifications for the safety and performance of components used in protection or hazardous fluid systems.

Product Certifications

ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) – Certification ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards for marine and offshore applications.

API 607 – Fire test certification for quarter-turn valves, verifying fire resistance and operational integrity.

ATEX Ex – European certification for equipment used in explosive atmospheres, ensuring safety in hazardous locations.

CE (Conformité Européenne) – Mark indicating compliance with European health, safety, and environmental standards.

CRN (Canadian Registration Number) – Certification for pressure-retaining equipment, ensuring compliance with Canadian safety regulations.

CSA (Canadian Standards Association) – Certification for electrical, mechanical, and safety compliance in North American markets.

DNV (Det Norske Veritas) – Certification ensuring quality, safety, and environmental standards for maritime and industrial applications.

IP (Ingress Protection) – Rating system defining levels of protection against dust and water ingress in enclosures.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) – Global certification for quality management, environmental, and safety standards.

NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) – Certification ensuring materials meet corrosion resistance standards for harsh environments.

NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) – Certification ensuring products meet health and safety standards for food, water, and consumer goods.
