Butterfly valve tee assemblies can be a good alternative to 3-way ball valves for diverting applications. In this case, two resilient seated butterfly valves are arranged to operate opposing each other (when one is open, the other is closed). Max-Air’s AE01-120VAC electric actuator supplies the torque to turn the valves and a Max-Air fabricated tee linkage kit physically ties the valves together. Unlike many tee assemblies out there, Max-Air supplies a bearing for the secondary valve as standard which eliminates stem side-loading and maximizes valve life.
